Extreme Close-up

Dscn3609
Just barely begun decorating for the holidays. Here is a close-up of a wreath I hung in the kitchen. I kind of like the texture and the fact that if I didn't tell you you'd probably have no idea what it is. (Unless you have the same one :)

Saturday we're going to chop down our Christmas tree. I think we're going to scale back from last year's 14 foot monster. "Little full, lot of sap." I'm hoping to stop off at the "World's Largest Garden Gnome!" You heard me right! I'll show you what I mean in a few days.

Gettin' Cozy, Gettin' Grounded

I just got back from yoga after a two month hiatus. That time away made a difference, and not in a good way. I'm celebrating my return from slackerdom with a cup of hot cocoa. I'm sorry, I mean "Sipping Chocolate," from Trader Joe's. It's based on European tradition. It says so right on the tin! Actually it's quite good and if you have a Trader Joe's in your neighborhood I recommend picking some up.

Sure it's cocoa's classier cousin but I deflated it's ego by popping some mini marshmallows in it anyway. How could I not?

And here's a little ornament I whipped up this weekend. Is it a mushroom or an acorn? I know which I think it is but there's been some discrepancies. What do you think?

Mr. Magorium

Last night I saw Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. It was entirely sweet and magical from start to finish and I truly enjoyed it. Natalie Portman is impossibly adorable, even with pretty bad hair.

But then scene stealer, for me, was the sock monkey. I've always had a thing for sock monkeys but this one was so sadly lovable...

I saw this movie with a grownup but, if possible, if might be even lovelier if seen with a child...or two...but definately not three :)

First Snow

Unfortunately not enough to stay home from work, but here it is, the first snow of the season. It was a little earlier than usual and was gone by the time I got home from work. Oh well...it was purdy while it lasted.

Holiday Cards

Here's a sneak peak at some Holiday cards I've been working on. They're printed from original lino cuts and my plan is to embellish them with just a touch of super fine glitter.Dscn3567

These along with some other Christmas goodies will be available in the shop early this week.

Sewing my Wild Oats

That's what  I've been up to. Well....sewing and eating oats more like it. Hopefully tomorrow I can show you the fruits of me sewing labor but for now I'll share this with you:
